This is the first of my novels to be published anywhere. If asked how long it took to complete, I would have to confess it took years, because I simply couldn’t  bury it in a bottom drawer, whenever I got a rejection slip from an agent. I just kept trying to improve it…and finally it seemed to take on a life of its own. Readers enjoyed the story, but then an encouraging agent told me my voice wasn’t quite right. I didn’t understand what those words should mean to a writer. But, one’s innocence can protect a sensitive ego; perseverance can topple the obstacles; passion can complete the goal. I kept writing, until the characters grabbed me by the collar and demanded they be given a stage!
